Celebrate the New Year Safely in La Mirada

The City of La Mirada reminds residents to be safe when celebrating the New Year. The Public Safety Team will be taking a zero-tolerance approach to ensure the safety of residents.

To enjoy a safe holiday, keep in mind the following:
• Gunfire is prohibited.
• Fireworks, including “safe and sane” fireworks, may not be discharged.
• Public drinking of alcoholic beverages and public intoxication are prohibited.
• Following a warning by the Public Safety Team, individuals who host large parties that disturb the peace and quiet of the neighborhood will billed for the cost of breaking up the party.
• Streets may not be blocked to accommodate large parties.
• If you drink, don’t drive!

Anyone in violation of the laws listed above and Municipal Codes will be fined and/or arrested. For more information or to report an incident, contact Public Safety at (562) 902- 2960.
