CITY OF LA MIRADA TO TEST EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM

The City of La Mirada uses an emergency alert system through the My La Mirada smartphone application to send official, real-time alerts during a disaster or crisis.

La Mirada residents are encouraged to download the app and sign up to receive emergency notifications.

“The My La Mirada app is an important tool the City will use to communicate with residents during a crisis situation,” says Assistant City Manager Anne Haraksin.  “The app gives public safety officials the ability to provide crucial information in the quickest and most efficient manner.”

Emergency notifications will include information about potentially life-saving actions that may need to be taken during a disaster or emergency.

The City of La Mirada will conduct an Emergency Notification Test at 9 a.m. on September 19.

To create an account, download the My La Mirada app.  For more information, contact the La Mirada Community Sheriff’s Station at (562) 902-2960.
