Giovanni Chaidez, Rosibel Montoya Killed In Tragic Accident

Family and friends are grieving the loss of two young local Norwalk adults who were tragically killed while walking across Rosecrans Avenue early Saturday morning.

Hews Media Group-Community Newspaper has learned that Giovanni Xavier Chaidez, age 23, and Rosibel Montoya, 20 lost their lives after they were hit by a truck while crossing the street.

The incident occurred in the 13000 block of Rosecrans Avenue shortly after midnight.

Both Chaidez and Montoya were apparently walking with their bicycles when they were struck. 

Photos taken at the scene from reporters show the black Ford F-150 struck several parked cars along Rosecrans Avenue.

Lt. Kevin Biggs, with the Norwalk Sheriff’s Department told HMG-CN that investigators are still finalizing an official incident report on the tragic crash. “We should have the report completed by Friday, and until then we have no comment on the matter,” Biggs said.
