A substitute teacher who works at Hutchinson Middle School in La Mirada has been arrested on alleged child molestation charges.
Dr. Ruth Perez, Superintendent of Schools for the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District confirmed to Los Cerritos Community Newspaper and the La Mirada Lamplighter that members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arrested one of the district part time substitute teachers earlier this morning.
Perez said that the instructor has not worked at any other schools in the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District in the past. She also said that the individual who was arrested was also a resident of La Mirada.
“We are in full cooperation with law enforcement officials as they continue their investigation,” Perez said this morning.
“Because this is under investigation, we can provide no further comment at this time,” she said.
