Set the World Record for World’s Largest Swim Lesson at Splash!

The Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center will join aquatic facilities around the world to break the world record for The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson on Thursday, June 18 at 9:30 a.m. The free event aims to promote the importance of teaching children to swim.

Statistics indicate drowning is the second leading cause of unintended, injury-related deaths for children ages 1-14. The World’s Largest Swim Lesson was created to support drowning prevention and water safety.

On Thursday, June 18, all participating organizations around the world will attempt to break the Guinness World Record by hosting swim lessons. Community members of all ages and swimming abilities are encouraged to take part in this event.

World’s Largest Swim Lesson spokeswoman, and four-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Janet Evans will kick off the event. Participants will receive a free swim lesson, an opportunity to meet Janet Evans, an opportunity to take part in a water safety fair, and admission for themselves and their family to the Splash! Buccaneer Bay waterpark for just $5 per person. The waterpark will open early at 9:30 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m.
