Popular Norwalk Sheriff’s Station Captain Pat Maxwell was honored by the La Mirada City Council this week in recognition for his five years of service to the community.
Maxwell was greeted by Mayor Gabe Garcia and other city council members and presented with a proclamation that lauded his “unwavering dedication to the community.”
Maxwell oversees the Norwalk Sheriff’s Station that c
overs the La Mirada, Norwalk, and Unincorporated portions of Los Angeles County near Whittier.
Garcia said Maxwell has been “a solid rock for the people of La Mirada.”
“Captain Maxwell has help La Mirada become one of the safest cities in the entire area,” Garcia said. The mayor pointed to official crime data that shows a 34% decrease in crimes since Maxwell was placed to oversee the stations daily operations.
Maxwell said he was “honored” by the recognition, and quickly thanked all of the deputies, and patrol staff who “work day in and night out to keep La Mirada safe.”
“La Mirada’s safe reputation can be attributed to Captain Maxwell’s leadership and proactive policing strategies,” said Garcia.
