2013 started off with a violent murder in Norwalk just 36 hours into the New Year.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation regarding the homicide of an adult male that occurred at the 14000 block of Gard Avenue.
“Detectives have learned that on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at approximately 4:00 AM, deputies responded to the location on Gard Avenue in response to a call of “gunshots heard in the area.”
Los Cerritos Community Newspaper has been told by Homicide officials that the victim was “shot multiple times.”
Deputies checked the neighborhood and area hospitals and located a gunshot victim who had been reported to have been shot near the location,” a Sheriff’s media statement released at 2:20 a.m. Thursday confirmed.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
Detectives are continuing their investigation into the victim’s identification and motive for the shooting.
Another media outlet is reporting that the victim was apparently dropped off at another hospital before being transferred to St. Francis emergency room with multiple gunshot wounds where he succumbed.
There is no further information available at this time and the name of the victim has not been released to the public. As soon as the identity of the victim is determined, Hews Media Group will disclose that information to its readers.
