The race for two La Mirada City Council seats will be decided sometime over the next few weeks after just nine votes separated the second and third place challengers in Tuesday’s heated and hard fought election.
Appointed Incumbent City Councilwoman Pauline Deal skated to an easy victory but challengers Steve Keithly and Andrew Sarega will have to wait until late absentee ballots are tabulated by city election officials.
Also, incumbent Gabe Garcia was easily defeated by voters on Tuesday. Garcia was arrested back in December after he allegedly struck at least two car while driving under the influence. Challenger Randy Gray trailed in fifth place.
