La Mirada residents can safely dispose of household hazardous waste and e-waste items free of charge at the La Mirada Regional Park Tennis Court Parking Lot on Adelfa Drive on Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hazardous materials such as motor oil, paint, turpentine, cleaners with acid or lye, household and car batteries, pesticides and garden herbicides, and expired pharmaceuticals can be brought to the free Household Hazardous Waste and E-waste Roundup conducted by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works and Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County. E-waste items such as computer monitors, televisions, computer CPUs, keyboards, printers, and cellular phones will also be collected.
Bring items in a sturdy box, preferably in their original labeled containers. Do not mix items together. There is a limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste per trip. Be prepared to leave your containers and boxes.
