Sunglasses and a phone cord was taken in the incident.A third row seat and wheel bolt cover was taken from a vehicle on the 14200 block of Firestone Blvd.Luggage was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 14400 block of Firestone Blvd.Grand TheftA grand theft involving fraudulent checks cashed was reported on the 16200 block of Phoebe Ave. The incident remains under investigation.Twelve catalytic converters were removed from vehicles on the 14700 block of Firestone Blvd. The suspects fled the location when approached by a bystander and left the parts behind.Grand Theft VehicleA vehicle was reported stolen from the 12800 block of Lake Forest Ave. The truck was recovered later the same day nearby.Don’t become a victim of vehicle burglaryVehicle burglaries are crimes of opportunity, but by taking simple steps you can help reduce the chance of becoming a victim.Out of Sight, Out of CrimeMany vehicle burglaries are a result of items that are left in plain sight in the passenger compartment of a vehicle. Plan ahead and make smaller shopping trips. If you must store valuables in your vehicle, lock them in your trunk and keep them in a non-visible place. Park in well-lit areas and remain alert in parking lots.
