Free Educational Presentation: Colon Cancer Prevention and Early Detection at PIH Health Hospital – Whittier

Whittier, Calif. (March 18, 2015) – March is National Colon Cancer Awareness Month. Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States. Most cases of colon cancer are preventable which is why screening is key.

Neal Shindel MD will discuss the importance of colon cancer screening and early detection of colon cancer at a free seminar on Monday, March 23 at 6 pm. The seminar will be held at PIH Health Hospital – Whittier in the Flo and Frank L. Scott Conference Center, Room F located at 12401 Washington Blvd., Whittier.

This informative presentation is for individuals who are 50 years of age or older, have a family history of colon or other cancers or have in interest in learning more about colon cancer screening and detections.

The presentation is free of charge and is open to all patients and community members. Light refreshments will be served.
