You are never too young to start following your passion.  Two local fourth graders – Lauren Gravitt, from Kennedy STEM Academy and Adrienne Morrow, of Cerritos Elementary were part of the incredible children’s cast for Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s presentation of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ performance held at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts [CCPA].

Both girls learned music from Band Aid School of Music, and are members of 3D Theatricals which is the new resident Broadway Musical Company for CCPA.  Directed by multi Tony Award Nominee Marc Kudisch and choreographed by Broadway’s Shannon Lewis, this high-spirited musical rocks the stage with the classic Biblical saga of love and redemption in ancient times. 3-D Theatricals’ hallmark of putting their own magical spin on each and every production they present, Joseph is filled with surprising humor for adults and children. “It is like seeing ‘Joseph…’ for the very first time!” says Executive Producer and Artistic Director T.J. Dawson.

The show opened September 30th at Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center and then moved to CCPA for two weekends.  The incredible show features 36 children in the children’s choir.

But Miss Gravitt is a seasoned performer at the tender age of nine, and has been involved in musical theater since she was six, and is a commercial and television actress. She has been in several musicals including Oliver, Suessical, Annie, and Mary Poppins. She had a solo in the show for Joseph.

Little Miss Morrow loves musical theater as well and started performing with Triple Threat Theater Group through the City of Cerritos under the Direction of ABC Unified Teacher, Patrick Sales. She has been in Shrek Jr., Joseph at the Rose Theater, and also Once on this Island.
