CRIME SUMMARIES – NOV. 28-DEC. 12

La Mirada

Residential Burglary

• A wallet and keys were reported stolen from a dorm room on the 13700 block of Rosecrans Ave.

Vehicle Burglary

• A cell phone was reported stolen during an overnight burglary on the 14900 block of Richvale Dr.

• Two nighttime window smash burglaries were reported on the 14300 block of Firestone Blvd.  A backpack, several laptops, and other personal effects were reported stolen.

• A daytime burglary was reported on the 14600 block of Mercado Ave.

Grand Theft 

• An overnight theft was reported on the 14900 block of La Mirada Blvd.  A generator was reported stolen.

Grand Theft Vehicle

• A truck was reported stolen on the 14200 block of Rosecrans Ave.

• A sedan was reported stolen on the 14603 block of Aranza Dr.  The vehicle has since been recovered by Anaheim P.D.

• A two door sedan was reported stolen on the 15400 block of La Fortuna Dr. The vehicle has since been recovered by Pico Rivera Sheriff’s.

• A truck was reported stolen on the 14400 block of San Feliciano Dr.

• A truck was reported stolen on the 15200 block of Elmbrook Dr.

Bellflower

Over the past two weeks there have been (113) reported crimes in the City of Bellflower.

The greatest number of incidents occurred on Mondays (21) and Thursdays (20).

The most common crimes were grand thefts of vehicles (32) and commercial burglaries (13).

There were (8) robberies during this time period:

1) Two suspects entered the store, concealed items in their pants and walked out of the front door, threatening harm to the employee if he tried to stop them.

2) Victim was attempting to sell his cell phone via a sales phone app when he was approached by three suspects who instead stole his phone. The victim followed the suspects to their car where they assaulted him before getting in the car and driving off.

3) Three suspects approached the victim as he was walking on the sidewalk. One suspect pulled a knife on the victim while another suspect pulled the chain from his neck. The third suspect punched the victim and all three took off on foot.

4) The victim was followed while walking through the parking lot. When he turned around three suspects attacked him, pushing him to the floor where they took his money and cell phone before they took off running.

5) One suspect/victim tried to steal the cell phone of the other suspect/victim, who ended up producing a gun and shooting at the first suspect/victim. The second suspect/victim was seen getting into a vehicle that drove off and out of view.

6) The suspect walked in and asked to buy a small item. When the cashier walked behind the counter the suspect jumped the counter, brandished a knife and demanded money from the register. The suspect grabbed the cash and ran out of the location on foot and out of view.
