LA MIRADA DOG OWNERS PREVENT PROPERTY CRIME

The Captain K-9 program educates participants to effectively observe and report suspicious activity while on routine walks with their dogs. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Gardenhill Park Amphitheater.

La Mirada dog owners are invited to help in the ongoing effort to prevent crime. The Captain K-9 program encourages recreational dog walkers to serve as an extra set of eyes and ears for law enforcement. Captain K-9 participants will be trained to effectively observe and report suspicious activity while on routine walks with their dogs.
“Residents who walk their dogs know their neighborhoods well, and are able to identify activities that may be out of place,” says Safety Education Officer Mary Cipres.
The next Captain K-9 meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 12 at 6 p.m. in the Gardenhill Park Amphitheater, 14435 Gardenhill Drive. Dog owners and their dogs are encouraged to attend.
Captain K-9 participants will learn to observe and report suspicious activity, identify criminal behavior, and help dispatchers and officers respond to potential criminal activity.
