Deputies Rescue Unattended Children From Locked Car in La Mirada

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Norwalk station deputies responded to the 13900 block of Imperial Highway in la Mirada at approximately 2 p.m. today regarding two unattended children locked in a vehicle call. Deputies were able to unlock the vehicle through a partially open window. Both children were transported to a local hospital for assessment and later released to deputies.

Los Angeles Department of Children and Family services (DCFS) have been notified and are responding. The mother of both children is currently is being detained pending an investigation.

The investigation is on-going, and there is no additional information available at this time.
