Valley View to Close for Nearly Four Days From Artesia to Alondra in Early October

Santa Fe Springs – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announces the scheduled 91-hour closure of Valley View View Ave. between Artesia Blvd. and Alondra Blvd. to allow retaining wall construction before we open the first half of the new Valley View Ave. Bridge to the driving public.

Local business access will be allowed during the closure.

The closure is subject to change and is scheduled as follows: Closing at 8 p.m Thursday, Oct. 3 and re-opening at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7:

Valley View Ave. will be closed to through-traffic between Artesia Blvd. and Alondra Blvd. for 91 consecutive hours. On Friday, Oct. 4, we will try to allow all traffic through without flagging on Valley View Ave. between Artesia Blvd. & Arbor Place during daytime business hours. After that, traffic will be restricted to business access only with flagging.

Firestone Blvd. will be also closed from Gateway Dr. to Valley View Ave. (Restricted to business access only with flagging.)

Detour: Alondra Blvd. to Carmenita Rd. to Artesia Blvd (or reverse route).

New Bridge Opening! At 3 p..m. on Monday, Oct. 7, all traffic will be shifted to the completed first half of the new Valley View Ave. Bridge with one lane open in each direction. Valley View Ave. and Firestone Blvd. will re-open to through-traffic.
