HONORED: During Women’s History Month in March, members of the California Senate recognized women for their leadership and volunteerism. The La Mirada City Council recognized Patty Miller for her valuable contributions to the community and being selected as 2024 Women of the Year. Miller is with La Mirada Mayor John Lewis.

Senator Bob Archuleta recently recognized 21 women at his annual Women of Achievement in Senate District 30 program in honor of Women’s History Month. Patty Miller was selected for her initiative and dedication to the community. While serving as president of the La Mirada Kiwanis in 2023, Patty helped establish “Buddy Benches” to combat loneliness and bullying. The Buddy Benches are located at all six La Mirada elementary schools. The Buddy Benches program is a passion project for Patty and will help the children of the community establish friendships for years to come. This project exemplifies Patty’s efforts over many years to support programs for La Mirada’s youth.
