The CIF State basketball championship playoff brackets were released Sunday, setting the stage for a potential local showdown.
Second-round games will be played Thursday and the semifinals Saturday. The regional finals are scheduled for March 10. The Division I state championship game will be held March 13 at 8 p.m. at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
La Mirada earned the No. 1 seed in the CIF Southern California Division I regional playoffs and will host Mater Dei in the opening round Tuesday at 7 p.m.
St. John Bosco secured the No. 4 seed in Division I.
If both teams advance through the first and second rounds, La Mirada would host St. John Bosco in the regional semifinals Saturday. The two teams have already faced each other twice this season, splitting the series.
In Division III, Gahr received the No. 1 seed in the CIF Southern California bracket and will host Narbonne in the first round Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Warren is the fourth-seeded team in Division III.
