Five-Week Crime Patterns

The 16000 block of Alicante Road now stands out even more sharply from every other location in the five weeks of crime reports.

Copper wire was reported stolen from the same block during four consecutive reporting periods. What had been a three-week pattern through Aug. 2 continued into the Aug. 3–9 report, when authorities once again reported copper wire stolen from the 16000 block.

Rosecrans Avenue is also emerging as a repeat theft location. An overnight window-smash vehicle burglary occurred on the 16100 block, a wallet was stolen on the 15200 block, and the latest report lists another late-night theft on the 15200 block.

Artesia Boulevard has now appeared several times as well. A tailgate was stolen on the 14500 block during an earlier reporting period, while the latest report lists a late-night burglary on the 14700 block.

Telegraph Road remains another repeat location. An evening theft occurred on the 14800 block, followed by an attempted robbery on the same block.

Vehicle burglaries were another significant problem, with multiple window-smash incidents and a noticeable concentration around Ocaso Avenue. Three vehicle burglaries were reported across the 15100 and 15200 blocks of Ocaso, while two more occurred on the 15200 block of Santa Gertrudes Avenue.

Overall, the July 6 through Aug. 9 reports continue to show property crime dominating the incidents released by authorities.

But nothing in the five weeks of reports is as persistent as what is happening on Alicante Road: copper wire stolen from the same 16000 block four reporting periods in a row.
