One young person has been shot and killed in La Mirada in what law enforcement officials believes is a gang related attack.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male Hispanic juvenile, which occurred Sunday night on the 13200 block of Duffield Avenue, La Mirada.
Detectives have learned that the victim was standing in the driveway of his residence when several unknown suspects approached him on foot, and fired several rounds at him, striking him one time in the upper torso.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
There is no suspect information available at this time, but in a statement to the media Monday morning the “shooting is believed to be gang related.”
