La Mirada Crime Summary June 18, 2012 – June 24, 2012

Aggravated Assault
An assault was reported on the 15000 block of Manecita Dr. A suspect was arrested in connection with the incident.

Residential Burglary
Five residential burglaries were reported last week.

 

A burglary occurred on the 14300 block of Elmrock Ave. Various items of jewelry were stolen.
A burglary occurred on the 14500 block of San Bruno Dr. Jewelry was stolen from the location.
A burglary occurred on the 12700 block of Oakthorn Ln. Miscellaneous jewelry was stolen from the residence.
A burglary occurred on the 15700 block of Stanbrook Dr. A safe containing various items was stolen.
A burglary occurred on the 14500 block of La Pluma Dr. Various electronics and other items were stolen.
Other Structure Burglary
A burglary to a business was reported on the 14800 block of Imperial Hwy. A television was stolen from the location.

Vehicle Burglary
Two separate window smash burglaries were reported last week.

An incident was reported on the 15500 block of La Mirada Blvd. Two checkbooks were taken.
A burglary was also reported on the 14800 block of Beach Blvd. A bag containing an iPad and cash was taken.
Grand Theft
A grand theft incident was reported on the 15300 block of Tacuba Dr. A pet was
reported stolen.

Grand Theft Vehicle
Two vehicle thefts were reported last week.

A vehicle was reported stolen from the 14900 block of Imperial Hwy. The vehicle was recovered several days later near La Mirada Blvd and Tacuba Dr.
A theft of a semi trailer was reported on the 16800 block of Trojan Way.
Protect Your Home while on Vacation
Summer is here and many residents are gearing up for quick getaways and lengthy vacations. If you are going to leave on vacation and plan to leave your home unattended, visit or call the Community Sheriff’s Station and sign up for a Vacation Security Check. Simply provide your emergency contact information and a description of your home, including any vehicles that will be left in your driveway. The La Mirada Public Safety Team will routinely patrol by your home to ensure its safety.
Other tips to ensure your home is safe while on vacation include cooperating with trusted neighbors to keep an eye out for suspicious activity, repair broken windows, doors and window locks, schedule a vacation hold for your mail and use timers for your lights.
