MURRYSVILLE, Pa. -Several local media outlets are reporting that over 10 students have been stabbed at Franklin Regional High School, about 15 miles east of Pittsburgh. The police have one person in custody. The new outlets are saying “it wasn’t immediately clear if the suspect and the victims are students, adults, or a mix of both, but it does not appear any of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.”
The local CBS affiliate is reporting that the stabbing occurred at 7:13 a.m and that the nearest hospital, Forbes Hospital, says 7 victims have been taken there, 1 victim has been flown to Allegheny General Hospital, and 2 taken to UPMC-Presby.
Three air medical helicopters were dispatched to the scene as well as dozens of ambulances.
According to a witness, the stabbings happened in the science wing of the building.
