La Mirada’s Neff Estate Beautification Event

La Mirada’s Historical Preservation Advisory Council will participate in a Neff Estate Beautification event on Saturday, October 18 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Community members ages 13 and over are invited to lend a helping hand to assist with beautifying and sprucing up the Neff Estate.

The Neff Estate covers 10 acres and consists of the three structures, all of which are registered on the National Register of Historic Places. The Neff Mansion dated 1892, the Carriage Barn 1894, and the George House 1895. The City along with the Historical Council takes great pride in the estate and aims to preserve the location. Volunteers interested in learning about the history of the estate as well as La Mirada can take part in the free tours of the Neff Mansion on this day between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon. Free tours are offered on the third Saturday of each month for all community members.

The Neff Estate Beautification event is created to bring community members together to help with general maintenance of the estate. Volunteers can expect to assist with dusting, sweeping, cleaning flowerbeds, and other general beautification tasks. Volunteers age 13 and over interested in assisting for should register by calling the City. Supplies, snacks and water will be provided. Donations to aid in the restoration and maintenance of the Neff Estate can be sent to the La Mirada Community Foundation.
