La Mirada Woman Pleads No Contest to Attempted Murder in Attack on Ex- Boyfriend

(CNS) – A La Mirada woman pleaded no contest today to attempted murder in connection with the shooting of her ex-boyfriend in his Pomona apartment. 

Jerica Mae Caballes, 23, was immediately sentenced to 13 years in prison following her plea, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. 

Caballes’ ex-boyfriend survived being shot in the face March 26. Two other men who were with Caballes during the attack have not been identified, according to the District Attorney’s Office, and it was unclear who pulled the trigger. 

Caballes was arrested the day after the shooting.
