LA MIRADA ROTARY HOLDS OPEN HOUSE ON NOVEMBER 16

LA MIRADA – Looking for a way to give back to the community and network with other business and community leaders? The La Mirada Rotary Club wants to meet you.

Rotary will hold an open house event for people from La Mirada’s business and professional community from 7 to 8:30 p.m. November 16 at the Twelve-Sixty Modern Pub & Kitchen, a popular La Mirada gathering place located in the Gateway Plaza Holiday Inn. Serving fresh, gastro-inspired food, hand-mixed drinks and an extensive selection of brews, the restaurant redefines classic pub favorites with bold flavors and taste combinations prepared with locally sourced ingredients and handcrafted with an artistic attention to detail.

“Guests will get a chance to mingle in a relaxed setting with members of La Mirada Rotary, and learn about Rotarians’ commitment to being a positive force in our community and business activities,” says Zurich Lewis, club president.

La Mirada Rotary Club has received special recognition from Rotary District 5320 for the positive impact of its youth programs. The club conducts the Eileen Wade Clothes for Kids project each December. Rotarians help La Mirada high school students by providing college scholarships, sponsoring the local Interact club and offering Youth Leadership training. In addition, Rotary assists at various community events throughout the year.

“La Mirada Rotary also supports a diverse range of programs and institutions, including local schools, efforts to eliminate polio and combat children’s cancer, the La Mirada Symphony and the La Mirada Library,” adds Lewis. “Getting involved in Rotary is a great way to become more active in your community and increase the visibility of your business or profession.”

Weekly meetings provide an opportunity for members and guests to network and hear interesting speakers on a variety of topics.

The parent Rotary International organization claims 1.2 million members around the world who are involved in efforts to advance goals such as literacy, peace, water and health.
