STAFF REPORT
The La Mirada City Council recently approved a partnership with the home security company Ring to implement a rebate program for La Mirada residents. The approved $10,000 of City funding will enable 200 La Mirada residents to participate in the program on a first-come, first-served basis.
Starting on Saturday, September 1, residents will have an opportunity to receive a $100 rebate, offered through a promotional code. The rebate is funded by the City and Ring. Additional discounts will be offered by Ring.
To participate in the program, residents will need to complete an online application and upload a utility bill (water, trash, electric, gas, cable/satellite, and/or internet) to show proof of La Mirada residency. The online application will be available on the City’s website at 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 1. Discount codes will be offered via e-mail on a first-come, first-served basis and will be redeemable through ring.com.
The promotional period will end when the funding limit is reached, therefore participants are encouraged to use the promotional codes as soon as possible. Promotional codes are valid for single-use only and cannot be used towards previously purchased Ring products. Receiving a promotional code does not guarantee a discounted price. Additional fees for a subscription to record and save the footage on the Ring mobile app will apply.
“Maintaining a safe community is the City’s highest priority,” says Senior Administrative Analyst Mark Rounds. “This partnership with Ring allows us to provide La Mirada residents an opportunity to purchase discounted home security products to help deter home burglaries.”
