La Mirada Couple Celebrate 60th Anniversary and 80th Birthday

2023 has been a Memorable Year for longtime La Mirada Couple, John and Angelita Ramírez.

On June 22nd this year they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary and on October 8th their whole family gathered at the elegant Chop House in Brea to celebrate Angelita’s 80th Birthday.

All ten of them dined on a gourmet dinner from appetizers to dessert. Angelita was an ABCUSD teacher in East Lakewood for 30 years.

After being nominated by the Leadership Team at Melbourne Elementary School, she was awarded Teacher of the Year Award by the Lakewood Rotary Club in 2005, the year she retired.

John retired as an IT Manager in the Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power.

“My husband, John, helped me a lot and never stood in my way while I worked as a teacher’s aide and attended night school”,  Angelita fondly recalls. Both were raised in Compton by hard-working parents and Angelita often says she married the boy across the street 60 years ago.
