The Friends of the La Mirada Library’s mission is to support the La Mirada Library to help it grow and thrive through the 21st century. The organization raises funds through its spring and fall book sales, the Friends of the Library Bookstore located within the La Mirada Library, and memberships. These funds supplement the library with new books, newspaper and periodical subscriptions, and many services and programs for all ages.
Programs funded through the Friends of the Library include artist led activities and crafts, author talks, STEM programs, cooking demonstrations, and much more. Friends of the Library was the sole sponsor of the circulating board game collection, which includes more than 80 unique board games for patrons to borrow. The Friends of the Library currently has 162 members, including 56 lifetime members and 106 regular members.
