The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close southbound State Route 133 (SR-133) between Interstates 5 and 405 (I-5; I-405) for 55 hours beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, June 20 until 5 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025.
The closure is part of a project to construct a new auxiliary lane. Detour signage will be in place to assist motorists.
Closure Information:
• Southbound I-5 connector to southbound SR-133 – Barranca Parkway exit to remain open.
• Southbound SR-133 to northbound I-405 connector – full ramp closure.
• Southbound SR-133 on-ramp from Barranca Parkway – full ramp closure.
• Southbound SR-133 directional freeway closure from I-5 to I-405.
Detour Information:
• From southbound I-5: Exit I-5 at Barranca Parkway. Turn right onto Barranca Parkway. Turn left onto Sand Canyon Avenue. Follow signs to northbound or southbound I-405.
• From southbound SR-133 to northbound I-405: Take southbound I-5. Exit at Alton Parkway. Turn left onto Alton Parkway. Turn left onto Sand Canyon Avenue. Follow signs to northbound I-405.
• From southbound SR-133 to southbound I-405: Take southbound I-5. Merge with I-405.
• From Barranca Parkway: Take Barranca Parkway north. Turn left onto Sand Canyon Ave. Follow signs to northbound or southbound I-405.
