La Mirada Survives Seventh-Inning Scare to Beat Michigan

La Mirada scored three early runs and added another in the third, then survived a tense seventh inning to hold off Michigan in a nail biter at the Junior League Baseball World Series.
After La Mirada jumped ahead, the game settled into a back-and-forth battle with both teams putting runners on base but repeatedly coming away without runs.
La Mirada added an important insurance run in the third inning, a run that became increasingly significant as Michigan continued to threaten.
Michigan scored two runs in the sixth and could’ve come away with more.
The biggest scare came in the bottom of the seventh.
Michigan loaded the bases with just one out, putting the tying and winning runs within reach and La Mirada’s undefeated postseason run in jeopardy.
But La Mirada escaped the jam without allowing a run, recording the final two outs to secure the victory and continue its run through the World Series.
