Los Angeles County Assessor John R. Noguez and former county property appraisal specialist Scott Schenter are both the center of two separate investigations by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Los Cerritos Community News confirmed on Friday.
Los Angeles County Senior District Attorney David Demerjian told LCCN early Friday morning that a case was opened against Schenter in May of 2011, and a case on Noguez commenced on November 18, 2011.
Specific details surrounding the investigation have not been made public, however LCCN has obtained a list from inside the Los Angeles County Assessor’s Office that documents the unauthorized reduction of more than 170 properties tied to the West District Office.
