The City of La Mirada has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. The attainment of this award represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“This award recognizes La Mirada’s commitment to transparency, responsible management of public funds, and sound governance,” says City Manager Jeff Boynton.
The CAFR is judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the CAFR.
This is the 27th consecutive year the City of La Mirada has received this distinguished award.
