JUDGING BEGINS SOON FOR LA MIRADA’S SPRING BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAM

The City of La Mirada invites all residents and businesses to prepare their properties for Spring Beautification judging. The Spring Beautification Program recognizes the efforts of homeowners, property managers, schools, and businesses who enhance the beauty of the community through the upkeep of their properties. Dating back to the 1960’s, this is one of La Mirada’s most traditional recognitions.

Beginning April 1^stthrough April 12^th, volunteer judges will canvass neighborhoods to select properties that demonstrate exceptional landscaping, exterior maintenance, and overall outstanding appearance. Owners of selected properties will be recognized at a special awards ceremony in June.

Homeowners who recently completed renovations improving the exterior of their property are encouraged to apply to be recognized in the “Most Improved” category. This category recognizes property owners who have achieved higher standards of property maintenance over the last year. A committee will review applications and before and after photographs related to the “Most Improved” category to determine the allocation of awards. Award recipients for this category will be recognized during the awards ceremony.

The application for the Spring Beautification “Most Improved” category is available at City Hall, Resource Center, Activity Center, and online at cityoflamirada.org. Applications are being accepted through Friday, April 12.
