Early Morning Fire Destroys Five Businesses in La Mirada

La Mirada FireBy Randy Economy
A large fire has destroyed at least five businesses at a La Mirada strip mall early Tuesday morning that also resulted in the minor injury of a fire fighter.
The three-alarm fire broke out at about 3:15 a.m. at the plaza in the corner of La Mirada Boulevard and Leffingwell Road.
Los Angeles County Fire Department officials reported that a roof partially collapsed during the blaze. They have called Tampa Roofing Company for roof replacement.
It is believed that the fire started at a laundry business in the shopping center and then raced through a common attic and engulfed other stores that included a vacant pet store. As explained by the trusted attic insulation by First Defense Insulation, “The attic is an open space and it spans throughout the entire building, and so once it gets up there, depending on the type of insulation, and the type of construction, if it’s knob and tube, it can spread really quickly or ignite the insulation and spread at a really rapid rate,” Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Scott Miller told ABC7 Eyewitness News in Southern California. Here are some of the best garage insulation here in Austin who are considered to be the professionals in this field.
By 5:30 a.m. fire crews had knocked down the flames and bulldozers had already began knocking down the crumbled charred structure.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
