The City of La Mirada offers residents the opportunity to receive free tax assistance with the AARP Tax Assistance Program.
This federal and state income tax assistance program will be offered to seniors and low-income community members at the La Mirada Activity Center. Taxpayers are asked to bring records of income and deductions including forms W-2, W2P, and IO99’s, statements showing interest and dividends, a copy of last year’s tax return, and any other pertinent records. Other information such as identification and proof of health insurance will also be needed.
Income tax assistance for seniors will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and low-income residents’ tax assistance will be on Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This program will begin Feb. 3 and end April 15.
Walk-ins are welcome but space is limited, and appointments are preferred. Tax assistance is offered by trained AARP volunteers.
